The enterprise is classified as a dangerous enterprise for handling of chemicals. Its activities include the processing of petrochemical products and sale of the finished goods. The enterprise has a working permit from 2002.

According to the demands of the Law for Chemicals, the enterprise has all necessary documentation which is composed and reviewed according to the timeline set by the Government Regulations of the Republic of Estonia.

The chemicals that are being processed and come out from the production are classified as highly inflammable and combustible substances. Due to the chemicals` fairly high maximum allowable concentration, they do not threaten the health of the population.

In case of a fire or a leak of chemicals on the plant, the danger zone is limited to the territory of the company. The danger of intoxication for the people in the neighboring areas will be on its minimum level. In case of the combustion of aromatic hydrocarbons, carbon oxides (CO, CO2 and soot) are formed. However, the air is polluted only in the area of the fire. The industrial wastewater gets polluted in case the chemicals get into the industrial sewage system.

In case of a significant leak of chemicals from the reservoirs and in case of their inflammation, the Emergency service will be called immediately. For the quick liquidation of any emergency situation, the enterprise has developed a plan for the liquidation of emergency situations, according to which the maintenance staff is trained. One of the prior points is calling the Emergency service number 112.
